1. LOCAL MARKET
(10:45 am - 11:30 am)
Local market in Montego Bay is not a common site among tourists, which is a shame, because it is very vibrant. Our guide will share with you how to shop like a local and choose best fruits and vegetables from Jamaican farmers.
2. MONTEGO BAY DOWNTOWN
(11:30 am - 12:05 pm)
A short walk from the market will take us to the central Downtown area. It is known for such historical sites as Sam Sharpe Square and “the Cage”, but the main attraction is Downtown life itself.
WARNING! This tour is a stereotype breaker and will change your
opinion about Jamaica
3. AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN LUNCH
(12:05 am - 12:45 pm)
Then we visit a small Jamaican cafe to taste authentic Jamaican cuisine. Various food options are available, including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. Make sure to inform us in advance in case of any food allergies.
4. HIP STRIP
(12:45 pm - 01:25 pm)
The most popular area in Montego Bay is the so-called Hip Strip, where all tourists are usually taken. We’ll drive
through the street so that you can feel the contrast with “Jamaica for Locals”.
5. TYPICAL JAMAICAN DWELLING
(01:25 pm - 02:05 pm)
Most Jamaicans don’t live in downtown or touristy areas. Instead, they would choose a house or apartment up in the hills above Montego Bay, where a lot of housing schemes can be found. We’ll take you to one of these communities to share the truth about Jamaican living standards.
6. SECLUDED GREAT HOUSE
(02:05 pm - 03:05 pm)
The history of Jamaica is full of heroic and tragic events alike. To get a glimpse of the past, we shall make our last stop at Greenwood Great House, which was built in 1700s and still holds numerous artifacts to tell the story.
DRIVE BACK
(03:05 pm - 04:15 pm)
Our driver will take you back to Montego Bay to Cruise Ship Terminal or any location within Montego Bay area for drop off.. Note, if you’re staying at a property far from the center of Montego Bay, there might be an additional charge for drop off.
